CLOSURE OF THE CATHEDRAL
The cathedral will be closed Mondays to Fridays from
11 August to 3 September to enable the removal of asbestos from the roof space. During this
period, weekday Masses will be held in the hall, which will only be accessible from the car park entrance.
The cathedral will be open as usual at the weekends.

Visitors and Holidays
Welcome to all who are visiting our parish and joining us for
Mass. We wish all going on holiday or staying at home a relaxing break.
We warmly welcome Father Ricardo Vielma, who is staying with us this August to study English. He is from Venezuela, studying to be a diplomat for the Holy See in Rome.
We also welcome the newly ordained Father Jack Ryan and Deacon Ryan Hawkes. They will be with us on Sunday, 16 August to assist with Masses. Please give them a warm welcome!
First Friday Devotions, 7 August

Confirmation 2027 & Youth Group
If your child is currently in year 7 (aged 12)
and would like to be confirmed they must start attending the Youth Group on the first

Jam and Vegetable Sale

Demand is at an all-time high while donations slow down. Please
donate non-perishable, in-date food parcels to the sacristy after Mass.
Legion of Mary in our parish
You are invited to the inaugural meeting of the Legion of Mary on Sunday 30 August after the 12:00 Mass in the CDC. Oppose Assisted Suicide in prayer and compassionate action
The bishops invite us to
respond, and to contact our MP asap. There will be a vote on Friday 11 Sept. As Catholics

Formation for Readers
Saturday 26 Sept 10:00 to 12:00 in the Hall.
Readers in the parish are invited for a morning of catechesis and practical formation on proclaiming the
Word of God at Mass. Refreshments available from 09:45.
