The Rite of Election
On Saturday 21st February 2026, the Cathedral was filled with joy at the annual ‘Rite of Election.’ This significant liturgy marked a key moment for those journeying towards full sacramental initiation into the Catholic Church. Presided over by Bishop Philip Egan, the Rite of Election brought together over 250 catechumens and candidates. They were accompanied by their sponsors, godparents, family members, parish communities, and parish clergy. Please pray for the growing number of people choosing to embrace the Catholic faith.
